Introduction

This guide explains how to configure Outlook to connect to CSCS's email servers.

“New Outlook” for Mac is currently not compatible with CSCS Exchange servers. If you are using it you must use click the toggle to revert to legacy Outlook (on Menu Bar click Outlook > New Outlook)

Requirements

To follow this guide you will need:

  • Office 2019 or Office 365 for Mac installed

  • Internet connection

  • CSCS User account

  • @medschl.cam.ac.uk

Instructions for Outlook Office 365

  • Open Outlook and if prompted enter the following, or click Tools and select Accounts

  • Click blue Add Email Account button

  • If prompted for a licence, sign in with your work or school account using the crsid@medschl.cam.ac.uk email address and password

  • Please enter your email address @medschl.cam.ac.uk email address

  • When prompted set up your email as follows and click Add Account

Instructions for Outlook 2019

  • Click on the Outlook menu and click Preferences

  • In the Personal Settings area, click on Accounts

  • To set up your account settings:

  1. Click the + symbol in the lower left-hand corner and select Exchange or Office 365

  2. In the Enter your Exchange account information fill in:

    1. Your full email address

    2. In the Authentication section select:

      1. Method - select User Name and Password

      2. If you are configuring an @medschl account, then enter your username as MINTS\username (this will be your University ID)

    3. Enter your password

    4. Tick the Configure Automatically tickbox

  3. Your email, calendar and tasks will begin to download to your computer. Please note that depending on the size of your mailbox this can take quite a while. Please be patient.
