Forwarding @cam Email - Exchange Online

Introduction

We often are asked about how to forward email from an @cam account elsewhere.

Disclaimer

Before you apply a forward on your email account It is very important to make sure that you do not already have any other mail forwarding in place. If you already have a forward in place from A to B and then forward from B to A it cause a loop and you will lose any email messages that are sent during this time. To check if you have a forward in place on an account send an email to the account, if the email does not appear then it is most probably being forwarded on.

Requirements

  • @cam email address
  • another email address to forward email to
  • Raven userid and password

Instructions

If you want to redirect your email from your @cam Exchange Online email to a different email account please follow the guide below:
  1. Go directly to https://outlook.office.com/mail/options/mail/forwarding and then set the configuration as per number 8. below or follow steps 2-7 to find the forwarding options
  2. Please go to https://www.office.com/ and sign in using your Raven credentials
  3. From the left hand side click on 'Outlook'
  4. Click on the cog icon
  5. In the Settings search for 'Forwarding'
  6. Make sure your settings look as following:
  7. If you wish you can tick the option for 'Keep a copy of forwarded messages'
  8. Click Save

After this your all new incoming emails from @cam.ac.uk email address will get forwarded to your chosen email account.


You can also permanently change your email address by adding your @medschl email address to your profile on the University Lookup Service
