Supported Operating Systems for Non-UMD Devices

Introduction

  • For non-UMD devices (see here for details on what are UMD devices) the University & CSCS will continue support an operating system until it no longer receives security updates from its manufacturer.

  • When this happens we are unable to make sure the device will remain secure, so where possible we encourage you to replace the device to one that will run an up-to-date operating system, where possible.

  • Where this is not possible we may need to limit access on our network, to mitigate the security risk
