Although the University of Cambridge provides McAfee antivirus centrally, the Clinical School Computing Service provides Sophos antivirus software for supported devices.
Computers supported by CSCS
Sophos is currently compatible with the below.
- Windows (On extended support Until March 2020), Windows 7 and above.
- MacOS 10.13 and above.
We do not currently offer a solution for Linux clients.
Support for Sophos
Computers supported by CSCS should already have Sophos installed, if you think this is not the case or for any other for issues or queries related to any CSCS-supported computer, please call the Service Desk.
The CSCS Service Desk is open 08:30 – 17:00, issues can be logged via Self Service Portal by selecting "I need help" on the right of the portal home page or for more urgent issues they are contactable via (3)36261.
Unsupported and Home Computers
For Network Only and Personal devices, free McAfee anti-virus products provided by the UIS can be downloaded from the UIS Website. You can also use Sophos Home Premium which is free for medschl and SLCU email users - Sophos Home Premium
